Synthetic Laboratories


VeZerf-Laborsynthesen possess a wide range of synthetic and technical know-how which is not limited to specific individual substances. In fact, we are open to requests or inquiries on syntheses from any area or field of chemistry, if we can handle these projects with our equipment. In the following we will list some of our preparative options available:


Standard reactions:

In glass reactors up to 30 L.

All reactions can be carried out under inert gas conditions (e.g., acylations, alkylations, coupling reactions, grignard-reactions, oxidations, reductions, substitutions, syntheses with pyrophorous reaction partners, syntheses with hydrogen cyanide, asymmetric syntheses, etc.)


Reactions involving gaseous reaction partners:

Processes with feeding in or condensing in e.g. chlorine, hydrogen chloride, ammonia, phosgene, phosphine, boron trichloride, etc.


Low temperature reactions:

Up to -78 oC / 20 L, e.g., reactions with metal-organics, phosgene, boron trichloride, phosphine; processing with liquid nitrogen as coolant in small scale dimension possible (g-batches).


Pressure reactions:

Up to approx. 5 bar / 1 L in glass pressure-devices , e.g. with phosphine, hydrogenations

Up to approx.

90 bar / 300 oC:

1 L agitated autoclave, stainless steel, glass liner, cooling coil

7,5 L agitated autoclave, stainless steel, glass liner, cooling coil and thermo sleeve from hastelloy

High temperature reactions:

Furnaces for high temperatures up to 1600 oC as muffle-, tube-, crucible furnacees, e.g., for producing alloys sensitive to air.


Methods of work-up:

E. g. Extraction, filtration (vacuum or normal pressure), crystallization, distillation / rectification (vacuum or normal pressure), preparative MPLC
